Berendsen’s Bounce Back
#1
AS Paris has high standards. In fact, the club might have one of the most competitive and complete set of players in all of simulation soccer. Expectations stack up fast when you are a talented player, coming out to your sophomore season and you take a step back.

Even still ASP stood behind their man after what was a tough season 24 campaign for the young gun. Bob was not at his best in his second stint in the league. Match ratings were down. Assists down. Expected goals dropped. By all accounts, Berendsen was a shell of himself. Just the season before he was looking like a candidate for rookie of the year and headed to a quick rise to stardom in the SSL. 9 contests later, the doubters were flipping out of the woodwork nearly daily.

But patience pays off. And a club like Paris knows what it takes to shake through a tough stretch, because that’s exactly what they have witnessed as BB has come back out for the club in the 25th season.

In just 9 contests (compared to BB’s 13 appearances last season) the budding star has already amassed 3 more POTM nods, contributed 5 more assists, matched last seasons goal totals and has seen a considerable improvement in both expected goals rating and overall game rating.

As ASP begins to run away in the first division in the minors, they can point to the junior season for the up and coming Berendson’s return to form for helping propel an already wildly talented roster to the top of the standings. With a goal differential that very clearly sets them apart from North Shore chasing them from behind. They can thank the resurgence of BB in what may be his final season in the minors before graduation to USP for a potential championship run that beckons ahead.
