Your Pre-Draft Guide to the S28 Top Earners
#1
What is going on Simulation Soccer League? It is your boy Squid back again with a new article with the same old information but a new take on it in order to make some money to fund my SSL ventures. In this article we will be going over the highest TPE players in the current S28 Draft Class and how their seasons went in the academy. We will also go over their strengths and weaknesses as well so you can get an overall feel for the player before the draft actually happens this upcoming weekend. I can not easily find information on users' past players to figure out who they used to be, so for that reason I will only be focusing on current players.

Think of this as a little bit of a  knowledge dump or a pre-draft guide to this year's draft class. THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. All TPE data is taken on October 21st as well as before any of the Academy Tasks are paid out to anyone who completed it. Once again, this is not a mock draft, it is just ordered completely based off of TPE earned at this moment in time. Do not be too upset about it at this point in time, I also don't know who manages what organization so I can't comment on that as well.

1. 433 TPE - Striker - Franco Maestro
User: Zoone16
Bank: $1,976,250
Strengths: 18 - Acceleration, Pace  13 - Dribbling, Finishing

Franco Maestro is an absolutely lethal striker who tore up the academy this season for Stockholm IK. Leading the entire academy league in scoring with a stunning 15 goals in 14 games, Maestro was punishing teams throughout the entire season. Guiding Stockholm to second place in the academy, Franco earned player of the match in 5 of his team's games showing his importance and stamping his mark on the league early. Adding in 3 assists and an average rating of 7.82, Franco Maestro was a difference maker of the highest level and is without a doubt in my mind the most likely player to go first overall in this draft. Sitting at 433 TPE and having just under 2 million SSL bucks in the bank, Zoone is without a doubt poised for that long term earning potential that you want out of a first overall pick. Already having hit 18 in both Acceleration and Pace, the rest of his attributes will fill out pretty quickly due to the low TPE cost. Adding in his Technical skills in Dribbling and Finishing being at 13 now, he has an ideal base already developed, just needs to round out his build and peripheral skills.

2. 431 TPE - Striker - Michele Honcho
User: Frantik
Bank: $3,886,250
Strengths: 18 - Acceleration, Pace 13 - Finishing

Michele Honcho is another lethal striker who struck fear into the hearts of opponents in the academy this season. Also lacing up the boots for Stockholm IK, Honcho delivered 8 goals and 4 assists throughout the league this season. A slight victim of having an extremely successful teammate, Honcho only picked up a player of the match award once this season. Still though, Honcho has been on fire with 8 goals and 4 assists across 14 matchdays in the academy. Even though they are a striker they have put up a surprising 97.67% tackle percentage as well, making sure they can strip the ball carrier and threaten the opposition easily. With 431 TPE so far, Frantik sits just behind Maestro in TPE while having the largest bank among the top 14 of this draft class. With $3,886,250 in the bank and ready to continue earning, Frantik is poised to contend with Zoone to see who earns the most TPE among Stockholm teammates. Michele also sits at a staggering 18 Acceleration and Pace, able to keep up with almost all majors division players already. A solid 13 finishing has allowed them to tally their 8 academy league goals and a well rounded build has a couple different attributes in the 10-12 range.

3. 430 TPE - Center Midfielder - Stephen Eustaquisquid
User: Squid
Bank: $950,000
Strengths: 18 - Acceleration, Pace  12 - Passing, Decisions

Stephen Eustaquisquid is the first non-striker in this list showing up as the current highest earning midfielder, however not by much. Playing for Port Royal FC this academy season, the midfielder had a decent showing picking up 2 goals 4 assists and an 88.24% pass completion percentage. He did stand out on the defensive side of his squad with 32 interceptions and 26 clearances  to go along with a 7.24 average rating. A lackluster season for the mid midfielder, hopefully his play picks up after he graduates from the academy. Along with the other top TPE leaders in the class, Eustaquisquid is also extremely high in both Acceleration and Pace with an 18 in both. Mostly focused on physicals so far, he has some TPE invested into both Decisions and Passing to make smarter decisions in the midfield. He is not very well rounded at the moment and will need to pump up other stats throughout his build to be able to compete. With $950,000 in the bank, he will likely have to do a large article or two in order to earn enough to continue earning in the coming season.

4. 420 TPE - Right Wingback - Alyssa Barnes
User: Symmetrik
Bank: $86,250
Strengths: 15 - Pace, 13 - Acceleration, Decisions, Teamwork, Work Rate, Passing

Alyssa Barnes is the highest TPE defender in the class, sitting at 420 TPE in the days leading up to the Draft. Playing for the Academy league champions PS Jakarta, Barnes had an absolutely phenomenal season putting up 2 goals and 10 assists while earning 4 player of the match awards. With the highest average rating of 7.93, Alyssa absolutely dominated the field during their first academy league season. With a great 84.63% pass completion percentage to go along with a 78.95% tackle percentage and 36 Interceptions, Barnes was dominant at both ends of the pitch. Whether it was breaking up offensive attacks or generating offense from the back end, Barnes was an important part of Jakarta's success this season. Not at the extremely high end of Acceleration and Pace like the previous 3 players, having a 15 and 13 in both is still a very good investment at this point. The rest of the build stands out though as they are also sitting at 13 in Decisions, Teamwork, Work Rate, and Passing, allowing them to find opportunities and execute them efficiently. This is shown in their great play throughout the Academy season. Symmetrik is one of the top earning users in the class so far and despite having a bank of just $86,250 at the moment, I would expect them to be a great player for any organization that picks them up. Depending on positional need for the teams at the top end of the draft you could expect Barnes to be in contention for the first overall pick.

5. 415 TPE - Left Attacking Midfielder - Rylee Knock
User: nasbase
Bank: $48,750
Strengths: 15 - Pace, 13 - Acceleration, 12 - Decisions, Off The Ball, Dribbling, Finishing, First Touch, Passing, Technique

Rylee Knock was a key component of Port Royal FC's offense this season, tallying up 4 goals and 4 assists for the club. The first attacking midfielder on the list, Rylee was Knock-ing the ball around the field and had a solid academy season with 4 goals and 4 assists. Earning player of the match twice over the season, Knock's pass completion percentage of 88.81% was one of the highest on this list. A bit lower in the average rating with a 7.06, still a solid rating overall throughout their first season. Rylee Knock was dynamic for Port Royal and showed flexibility starting at Striker I believe before being moved over to the left side after some new pickups by Port Royal midway through the season. Adapting to their natural role was solid as Knock was able to still produce a great debut season for them. Rylee Knock is one of the more balanced players at the moment, not having the extremely high pace and acceleration invested like others on this list so far has allowed them to invest in other spots and round their build out. Still fast with 15 Pace and 13 Acceleration, having 12s across several different attributes has made them a threat all over the field and able to slot in whatever role needed. The bank account at this point is quite a bit low, falling into the sub 50 thousand range at $48,750 but I wouldn't worry about that much at this point as that number can easily be pumped up and they are already in the top 5 in TPE.

6.  407 TPE - Left Defender - Anthony Privett
User: ggmeister
Bank: $286,250
Strengths: 16 - Pace, Acceleration 13 - Anticipation

The second defender of the class so far, Privett is also the first player from Victoria Falls to appear on the list. Putting up 1 goal and 3 assists this season for the Eagles, his 42 interceptions is the highest on this list. Earning an average rating of 7.24 as well as a tackle percentage of 81.4%, Privett only played 11 games compared to others in the class that played 14, yet made a huge impact on the field for Victoria Falls evident by the insane amount of interceptions. Another speedy player, Anthony Privett has already invested into 16 Acceleration and Pace, just a tad behind the class leaders. His next strength his the ability to anticipate the play, with a 13 in Anticipation. With the extra TPE saved from not going to 18 Acceleration and Pace, he has invested into a ton of different attributes to keep them around the 10-12 range. This makes him a bit more well rounded than others in the class and that led to them excelling in the academy league this season. With 407 TPE already and still having $286,250 in the bank, Privett is one of the top defending targets for this draft.

7. 405 TPE - Right Attacking Midfielder - Emmanuel Bocande
User: iltornante
Bank: $412,500
Strengths: 14 - Pace, 13 - Acceleration, Dribbling

Another attacking midfielder, Bocande is a strong player that is probably the most well rounded of the class so far. At 405 TPE his highest stat is Pace at 14, but Dribbling and Acceleration is close at 13. What you don't see on the strengths here is that he has 12 other attributes already in the 10-12 range while having 23 banked TPE ready to apply. Emmanuel is one of four players on this list that did not play in all 14 academy matchdays this season, playing 8 games for Stockholm IK and putting up 1 goal and 3 assists. With 19 interceptions and a tackle percentage of 83.33, Bocande routinely challenged the opposition and took the ball away, resulting in chances for Stockholm whether that was dishing it or taking it up himself. An average rating of 7.17 across his 8 games showcases his ability to play a strong game. With $412,500 in the bank still as well as 23 banked TPE, Bocande would be a strong pickup for a team that has a specific role in mind for them with the flexibility of where to apply that TPE at this point.

8. 391 - Center Attacking Midfielder - Char Zard
User: WildfireMicro
Bank: $1,522,500
Strengths: 14 - Composure, 13 - Agility, Passing, Anticipation

Char Zard is a pass first midfielder who laced up the boots for Victoria Falls this season
and tallied 4 goals and 4 assists in just 10 matches. With a pass completion percentage of 82.04% and tackle percentage of 77.78%, Zard was out on the pitch dishing the ball and taking it away from opponents. Char Zard did have an average rating of 7.21 in their 10 games this season, showcasing their skills in the midfield. Char Zard is the first player on the list so far to not have Pace as their highest attribute so far, instead opting for Composure to keep their head cool and not too fired up late in the game. With 13 Agility, Passing, and Anticipation, Char Zard is able to dodge plays in the midfield and anticipate where the ball is going or they want it to go. Being able to stay composed under pressure and executing on a great pass is a great strength to have in the midfield. Char Zard is sitting with one of the biggest banks in the class right now too, with $1,522,500 in the bank and ready to spend. Zard would be a great pickup for a team looking to strengthen their midfield.

9. 391 - Central Defensive Midfielder - Micool CXXXII
User: Micool132
Bank: $706,250
Strengths: 16 - Pace, Acceleration, 11 - Anticipation

Micool CXXXII is defensive midfielder that absolutely lit up the academy league this season en route to winning the cup. Despite being a defensive midfielder, in his 11 academy games he tallied 7 goals and 4 assists. Earning player of the match honours once this season, Micool was an important part of a Jakarta team that dominated the academy and took the title. With 16 Acceleration and Pace, he was able to blitz up the field and hammer in shots like nothing. With an Anticipation rating of 11 he was able to know where he had to be before the ball got there and capitalized on the chances with no hesitation. With a pass completion percentage of 85.94% to go along with a 7.75 match rating, there are only 3 players on this list with a higher match rating than him, and two of them played on his squad. With $706,250 in the bank, he has one of the larger banks on the list. One of the biggest things to look at for Micool CXXXII is that he has 73! Banked TPE right now, so he has been playing out of his mind while at  a lower TPE than his peers. Whichever organization takes him will also be able to help him  build into an even more amazing player using that extra TPE.

10. 383 - Central Midfielder - Byakko
User: ihatereyson
Bank: $25,000
Strengths: 13 - Acceleration, Pace, Dribbling, Passing

Byakko is a solid central midfielder that tallied 1 goal and 2 assists for the Victoria Falls Eagles this season. A technical midfielder that can either dribble out of the trouble or find the perfect pass to a streaking player, Byakko can do it all in the midfield. With a rating of 13 across Acceleration, Pace, Dribbling and Passing, Byakko was a key part of the engine running Victoria Falls. Putting up an extremely strong pass completion percentage of 89.34% as well as 30 interceptions, I have no clue on how they did not earn a player of the match award this season. Getting 30 interceptions and an average rating of 7.16 in their 14 matches, Byakko may have not had eye popping goals and assist numbers like other players. But they were a key component that helped Victoria Falls this season and that is evident by these numbers and their on-field play. One of the lowest bank accounts among the list at $25,000 I wouldn't worry about it too much as there is still a lot of things going on in the league to write about or do media on. Whoever picks up Byakko will be grabbing a talented midfielder who can be a strong playdriver.

11. 377 - Central Defender - Pau Busquets
User: omniscient
Bank: $25,000
Strengths: 18 - Acceleration, Pace 16 - Jumping Reach

Pau Busquets (Budget or Busquets? Player page and draft class says different things at the moment) Is the first central defender on the board now, with 377 TPE earned so far. One of the fastest players in the class with an 18 in both Acceleration and Pace so far, the rest of the build is still on it's way to being increased. With a 16 in Jumping Reach, this defender is a goalkeeper's best friend as he is able to clear out the box and win headers to keep the ball from going into the net. Playing for the Victoria Falls Eagles in the academy, Busquets did not tally any goals or assists this season but did earn player of the match honours once. With 29 interceptions and 33 clearances, Busquets was a dominant defensive force on the back end. Winning 78.95% of all his tackles and being able to successfully complete 89.97% of his passes, Busquets was elite at winning the ball then breaking it out of his half of the pitch safely. With $25,000 in the bank, money may be an issue later on but at this time I would just echo it and say that it isn't too big of a deal at this point, but for long term earning I would hope for it to go up.

12. 377 TPE - Central Midfielder - Katherine Valar
User: Revari
Bank: $25,000
Strengths: 13 - Agility, Anticipation, Flair, 12- Pace, Vision

Katherine Valar is another Stockholm IK team member, who had a great first season in the academy. With 2 goals and 3 assists, this midfielder has a whole lot of flair and was crucial to Stockholm being able to generate all the goals that they did. Valar was great in the midfield and was adept at winning possession and sending the ball through with crisp clean passes. With an 84.51% pass completion percentage and an 84.85% tackles won percentage, if Valar wanted possession of the ball then she won it from you and sent it to a teammate immediately. Adding in 23 interceptions and 22 clearances to go along with those stats and an average rating of 7.26, Valar was an underrated player this season. With the Agility, Anticipation and Flair attributes being up at 13 already, it has shown in her playstyle of being able to anticipate and pick off the ball and turning it to a teammate. I do appreciate a player using 12 Flair at this point and hopefully you can find her making some crazy moves to embarrass the opposition in the future. With only $25,000 in the bank like the previous two players, I would just say the same thing here, it shouldn't matter much at this particular moment in time but down the stretch money will be needed.

13. 352 - Central Defender - Ollie Turner
User: Antman
Bank: $0
Strengths: 15 - Strength, 14 - Jumping Reach

Ollie Turner was an incredibly effective player for PS Jakarta this season and partnered up with Alyssa Barnes, carter black and Micool CXXXII to win the title in the academy. A central defender that somehow put up 8 goals and 0 assists is already impressive in itself, but Ollie also led this list in combined interceptions and clearances. With 35 interceptions and 30 clearances to go along with an 88.67 pass completion percentage, this central defender was a monster this season. Winning the ball and I am assuming just sprinting down the field and scoring themself, getting offense from your central defender is a great sign of a team's dominance. Turner has been pumpinh up purely physical stats and is by far the strongest player of the draft class with 15 in Strength, as well as being able to clear the ball out of the box using headers and a 14 Jumping Reach. Adding in that every other physical stat is between the ratings of 10-13, he is an absolute engine on the back end. This is where the list does start to slip a bit TPE wise though, with Turner sitting 81 TPE back from the class leader and 25 back from 12th place on this list. With 0$ in the bank account there may be a bit of a concern there but as long as they keep doing PTs and Activity checks they will still be fine, maybe even score a ton of goals as a Defender at the next level.

14. 346 - Central Attacking Midfielder - carter black
User: astafurilah
Bank: $25,000
Strengths: 16 - Acceleration, Pace 13 - Jumping Reach, Composure, Concentration, Long Shots

Carter black is another attacking midfielder that was absolutely lighting it up for PS Jakarta this season. Winning 4 Player of the match awards as well as tallying an incredible 8 goals and 9 assists, carter was out there doing absolutely everything and it was working. With an 84.29% pass completion percentage, black was an absolute menace able to find his teammates for goals 9 times this season behind only Nwachukwu and Barnes. With Pace and Acceleration already sitting at 16 each, his secondary strengths have already been specialized in and it has helped him dominate so far. With high Composure, Concentration, Jumping Reach and Long Shots, he is a threat from any distance. Whether it is whipped into the box he can win the headers, in the box he can dribble for a tap in, or outside the box he is a threat with his ability to place Long Shots. Carter black is absolutely elite on the pitch but is a bit behind TPE wise, being 89 TPE behind the class leader and having missed a couple activity checks. With $25,000 in the bank media will be needed especially since he has fallen a little bit back, but as long as the organization that picks them up can help motivate them they should be a great pick up.

Now, thanks for reading this long pre-draft guide written by me, I tried to not be super repetitive but it may have happened at a couple points. Thanks for reading and good luck to all in this upcoming draft!
