It's been 4 hours now since the draft and it's still not quite sunk in yet. We were all in the function suite of the main Academy Building, it was a huge room, well it had to be to fit all 74 of us from the academy class of S26 then you had representatives from all 12 organizations. This was it, there was a mix of excitement and nerves in the air. Everyone buzzing but quietly anxious as to what team were going to pick them. The hosts were on the stage and without much delay it just went straight to business. 1 OA, the first pick of the draft was up from SFV and to say I got a shock of my life would be an understatement, everyone kept telling me I would be going first but I never really could believe them, I just let it go over my head. I was heading to SFV and honestly I was buzzing beyond belief. But then my excitement would reach another level.... because going 2OA was Reece Munro! My brother and fellow academy teammate was coming with me to SFV/MTL! The to top off an excellent night... 32 OA comes along, SFV 4th pick and they draft Bruce McAllister! So all 3 of us will be heading on the plane together to Montreal to play in D2 of the Minors!
