Andres Pedrillo - Rookie Season Reflection (S19)
My inaugural season in the SSL with A.C. Romana challenged my patience, resilience, and development. From the very first matchday, I assumed a starting position as a central defensive midfielder, which required me to adapt rapidly. I honed my skills in disrupting the opposition's play and initiating attacks from the back and learned to maintain my composure throughout a demanding season.
Although the team's performance was not particularly remarkable, I acquired significant experience within a tactical framework that demanded considerable effort both defensively and in terms of ball possession. Throughout 16 matches, I completed more than 750 passes with an accuracy of 87%, contributed 12 key passes and 54 progressive passes, and recorded 18 interceptions with a tackle success rate of 63%. While I did not achieve any assists or goals, the essential statistics were present, and I am confident that I improved my skills with every game.
As I approach S20, I aim to transform those moments of creativity into tangible results—aiming for more assists, a more effective press, and hopefully, my inaugural professional goal. Whether I continue as a balanced central defensive midfielder or transition into a more offensive role, this rookie season has laid the foundation for my development as Andres Pedrillo.
