I've always enjoyed these career point tasks as a reminder to take a minute and take stock on what has passed and what the future holds. It is very fitting that this final career touchpoint encourages a short and sweet reflection on our player's legacy.
Hercule would like to think there are a few more stories yet to be told during the sunset of his career, but even if his tale is largely done he can be proud of what he has accomplished. While individually his flame may never have burned brightly, he was a quiet contributor in a number of team accomplishments. And maybe that quiet aspect is the legacy he always sought; being a solidifying force in the backline to keep things composed allowing other players around him to express their playstyle. When people look back at the teams he was a part of he likely wouldn't be the first name people excitedly remember, but he should always earn a nod of respect for his contributions.
Approved - A fine career indeed. Average match rating hasn't dropped below 7 since your trade to the Hollywood org!

There are a lot of things Nikolai Ahmed didn't expect when coming out of the academy. For Nikolai's whole career, he didn't expect to win a single title with CF Catalunya. In reality, they lost a lot of games during his stay with the organization. The team was constantly in the rebuild phase for a long time.
Now, Catalunya has had a line of defensive midfielders which have done great on the pitch for Catalunya. Ahmed was drafted in the 4th round, what some people would call a "flier pick". He was the backup in case the first DM they picked went IA. Instead of facing adversity by quitting, Nikolai continued to grow his skills. Over the seasons Nikolai became a standout player for the organization, and while not appearing much on the statistic leaderboards, the effect that he has had on the locker room will go more noticed. He has always been a positive face when talking with teammates, encouraging and helping build everyone up.
Nikolai has achieved little in his long career, and to think that his peak season is now arriving is a little sad. But as mentioned at the end of his 8th career task, his goal was to win... something with CF Catalunya. And while there may not be a trophy for this achievement, Nikolai had the best moment of his career ever facing off against Liffeyside in the Promotion/Relegation Playoff Match where CF Catalunya came back and won the game on penalties. Nikolai managed a crucial assist and goal in extra time to contribute to their promotion, and that is the legacy that Ahmed wanted to leave: a mark in history, giving the future of Catalunya a dream of playing at the top level of SSL while enjoying a nice dish of paella.

One thing I’ve learned in the few years I’ve done sim leagues, it’s that you can’t sweat the small stuff. You can put all the TPE in all the right places and be set up perfectly to succeed, but it’s just a bunch of dice rolls that no one controls. Benecio is a great example of that, where earning and upgrading has been great (shoutout 2k TPE club woohoo!) and on a winning team, but hasn’t really ever been the #1 goalie in the league, certainly consistently. And that’s ok! He has done all he can to help his team succeed, and with all team sports, his team does all they can to help him succeed. So the legacy that I hope Benecio leaves on this league is that earning/upgrading consistently will help the team succeed the most, and then any individual awards are just a nice bonus. Individual success is great, but we play these leagues together as a team, so that’s the most important aspect of legacy, in my humble opinion.
Approved - A great career reaching the peak but not over yet. Benecio still has some fight in him!

A legacy, a balmy notion if you say so. For Bernardo Fry the story has always been about going forward, not pondering what the future will think of him in the past. His final verse has yet to be written. The team stands in second place, with 15 points from 7 matches, a single point off first. Fry has been instrumental so far, scoring key goals, important assists, and generating a large number of chances. Of his three goals, one is currently on target with the second place position of Cataluna. If he can further increase his assists and MVP awards, Fry will have the best season of his life and hopefully leave behind a difficult to fill gap in the Cataluna offense.
What further legacy could their be? The absurd weekly reviews of his performance? The inexplicable performances of his clone while he was away on vacation? The excessive Slurm Plus consumption before important matches? Goodness, we can only hope that some of those things will be best left forgotten.
Approved - Cataluna will definitely miss Fry when he's gone!

Career PT#8
After a grueling match with bitter rivals Reykjavik United, Shingo Takechi finds a quiet corner of the Dragons' locker room, pulls out his phone and starts a live broadcast on his SSLtube account.
"Hey there Dragon Fam! Sorry for letting you guys down tonight, I wish things could've gone better but the better team won tonight, congrats to Reykjavik and my counterpart there, Fiery Chicken, he was definitely the better goalkeeper tonight and he pulled off some amazing saves that I don't know if I could pull off on even my best days."
Takechi looks very distraught, on the verge of tears.
"And with that, our title challenge for this season comes to a close, we officially can't catch up to Hollywood anymore, which sucks, I really thought that *sniffle*, that this would be our year, the year of the Dragons y'know, especially after how the end of last season went."
Tears form in the corner of Takechi's eyes as he recalls the heartbreak of losing the title last season on goal difference.
"But it's okay, we keep moving forwards, and we still have a lot to play for, we still gotta win games and avoid relegation this season, and I believe we can do it, we're certainly better than our recent results have suggested, we've just been getting a tad unlucky is all."
A tear rolls down Takechi's right cheek, followed by another down his left cheek.
"It's tough, real tough, I've been a Dragon for 6 seasons now, and in that time, we've been slowly but surely improving, and I really believed that we could challenge for the title this season, I really, really believed that."
Another tear.
"I... I want to win something with these guys, here in this locker room, Tricky, Tony, Marcel, Allie, Petter, Damian, Sammy, BigMac, Jimo and of course Thomas, these guys have done so much for me, I want us to taste success together."
Upon hearing her name, Allie Bunson turns and sees Takechi, tears dripping down his face, and swiftly makes her way to his side, hops on the bench Takechi is sitting on, and gives him a big, warm hug.
"Oh, thanks Allie, I needed that."
Allie flashes Takechi a big smile and reassures him that it'll be alright, that they'll get 'em next time, and that they'll win the championship next season. Takechi smiles back, then wipes the tears from his face and turns back towards his camera and continues...
"I want to be remembered, as one of 11 players to be the first team of Shanghai Dragons to win a Majors championship, preferably in Division 1. I want to lead our team into a golden age, before making way for the next great Shanghai goalkeeper. I want to prove, that Shanghai Dragons are in fact, Better Than Reykjavik, and most of all, I want to make sure, that all of our effort, that everyone on our team has put in, will be rewarded. This season might be a wash, but mark my words, Shanghai Dragons will come back stronger and hungrier than ever next season, and we will win a title. Takechi out."
Takechi closes the broadcast, stands up, high-fives Allie before making his way out of the locker room, and goes to a nearby bar with Thomas Hohenhahn and Marcel Voda to come up with a plan of action for the rest of the season and the next, and also to drink away the sorrows of this season.

It's hard to believe we're at the peak of Julian Rubio's career when it feels like only yesterday that a struggling USP team picked the Andorran striker first overall in the Season 18 draft. Since then, Rubio's career has been one of growth and triumph. From joining one of the worst teams in SSL history to winning the cup in S20, and finally the league in S22, Rubio has had the career that every player dreams of, and as a recent article stated, it's obvious why. Rubio's success has also translated statistically. He currently sits 6th all-time in Majors Goals and is looking to climb. But perhaps the most impressive part of his career has been his impact on the Pyrenees Union, where he finished 3rd in the WSFC in S18 and led his team to 1st in S23 with a Golden Boot performance. Now, as much as he hates to admit it, none of this success would have been possible without his teammates. His fellow S18 draftees Joao Peixoto and Benecio Aguilera were both key parts of the team and of Rubio's success, and even players like Roquefort Cotswold had a part to play. However, despite the reflective tone, it's clear that Rubio's career is far from finished, and he has so many more goals to score and trophies to win.
Approved, congrats to Rubio, hopefully many goals and trophies still to come!

Thomas contemplated his journey. He was a promising young rookie in Sydney at the time, but not everything went as planned. He was now in the twilight of his career, without a title. He had come close several times, and with several different teams. Sydney, Kaapstadt, Central Europe... The failure that bit him the most, however, was the defeat against Reykjavik depriving Shanghai of the title on the last day, when a draw would have followed. And now the club has had a bad season and has been relegated. The fans were not happy, nor were the players, but club owner Kermit McFrog was content with harsh phrases such as "After the rain, the good weather".
Thomas thought about his failures and his legacy. He was a good player who lacked that little extra something to be successful, but he also tried to build the history of a club on his own, while fighting against the dictatorship of Reykjavik, USP and of course, his former club Hollywood.
