However, he also had a sensitive side and was good friends with a couple of other famous Muppets. Since 'The Muppet Christmas Carol', Rizzo and Gonzo have been best pals. Recently Gonzo made a career change and became a professional hockey player in the SHL and Rizzo decided to follow suit. Sadly, it turned out Rizzo could not skate so he decided to try out for his hometown Zambian soccer club. To the delight of many, he shined on the field quickly making a name for himself. During his career in Zambia, Rizzo played in 89 games, recording 28 goals and 20 assists, and helped his team win the National Championship in 2020 and 2021, scoring the game-winning goal in the 2021 National Semi-Final and Championship Games.

His abilities on the pitch quickly went viral. The next thing you know Rizzo was selected first overall in the MLS SuperDraft by Sporting Kansas City. When SKC's coach Peter Vermes first started scouting Rizzo, he didn’t understand the full extent of what kind of player the Zambian could be for SKC. The coach simply wanted a player who’d immediately be able to man the right-wing but was impressed by Rizzo's ability to play on both sides, and especially by his penchant for cutting inside and shooting with his weak foot. Vermes calls Rizzo’s ability to dribble past players an “art.” Fittingly, he also describes Rizzo as an artist on the ball. Joining the team in Arizona for their preseason he helped the squad go undefeated.

Before the MLS season began, to the dismay of many, problems with Rizzo's work visa and MLS regulations pertaining to rodent Muppets joining the league... Rizzo was unable to sign a contract and make his professional debut for the club so he decided to take his talents to the Simulation Soccer League.

Rizzo Rigmarole enjoys aged cheese, large spicy pizza, and fine tweed suits. Watch out for this well-dressed midfielder -- he has every intention of taking this league by storm.

APPROVED

Peter Oak, is a native of Reading, England and has football DNA running through him. His father was a local cult legend in the Reading Sunday football league community known for his ruthless and unneeded aggression and reckless tackles during these small scale fun matches. His mother was a PE teacher, so you could say that Oak has all the ingredients necessary to be a physical force wherever he plays.

As with many youth players, Peter Oak played in most positions on the pitch during his youth playing years. However the position that he likes the most is playing as a midfielder. During the most recent season, he managed to score 3 goals, provide 26 assists, have a 94% pass completion, 21 key passes, 97 tackles and won 92% of duels. He is a midfielder that will travel the entire length of the pitch, coming in deep from the midfield to collect the ball, distributing it quickly and then moving into the opposition area to create dangerous chances. He is known for his exceptional work rate and although he has few standout attributes at the moment, he is very well rounded and able to develop and mold into any type of player that the club he will be drafted to wants him to become. This versatility in the middle of the pitch makes Oak one of the more promising prospects in the upcoming draft.

In his free time, Peter Oak likes to go around the local community and play pickup games with the youth. He has started working on his ref and coaching licenses in order to understand the game from multiple different perspectives in order to improve and exploit the way he can play on the pitch. Besides that he enjoys looking like he belongs in the chav culture and you'll most likely see him sporting an adidas tracksuit and fake gold chains.

APPROVED

Otis Boudreaux, the lanky kid from Ireland who grew up with a football at his feet, whoever thought I would make it to this level?

I dont remember not kicking a football. I remember spending Saturday afternoons watching it on the telly, through the summer it was the teams here in Ireland and then the rest of the year, the leagues from Britain and Scotland. My Da is a huge supporter of Bath City, so is my GrandDa, so I guess it would fall to me as well. I cant think of a time that I wasnt a Romans supporter. We would travel there at least once every 2 months for a match and everybody seemed to know us.

I guess it was supposed to happen this way, the gaffer, Jerry Gill, is good friends with Da. Da always talks about seeing Jerry wearing the Roman's stripes as a player and about how adept he was with the ball. One of my prized possessions is a game program from Jerry's playing days at Bath, with his photo on the front, and Jerry's signature, to me as well! I feel like I just stand there and stare whenever I see him even now.

But one day the phone rang and it was Jerry, offering me a spot in the Bath City Youth Academy. Yea, it wasnt one of the top tier teams, but it was with the Bath City Romans! I was put in Jerry's care and lived in Bath for 6 months out of the year and went home the other 6.

I didnt think it would be that hard, playing footie every day, but I realized there was much more to it than I had ever thought. I later found out that I wasnt just given a spot with the Romans because of Da, people actually thought I had talent. Yes, I was considered a raw find, but if I worked hard and things went my way, yea, I could actually make it.

After 3 years with the Romans, I moved to Bristol City's youth side. Once again, I was on the move after 3 months, and was sent to Norwich City and finished the season on their youth squad.

I was home, the season had ended and I wasnt sure what would happen next when the phone rang. Ma said it was for me, was I interested in joining a new league? YES!!

So I am practicing, I called Jerry, the Romans season was over (they escaped relegation) and he was more than happy to help me prepare for the draft. We could shoot some video of me playing, live-stream some of my practice sessions, try to get me known.

Yea, the draft is in a week, I have alot of time to makeup, but the one thing everyone will quickly learn about Otis Boudreaux, he is not afraid of hard work!

APPROVED

Isabela Cortez was born and grew up in London, Ontario. She grew up playing both soccer and hockey, but when she was 13 she was excelling in both and had to make a choice to play one or the other. Isabela ultimately decided to stick with soccer. She was playing at a much higher level, and parents and coaches agreed there was more potential for her in soccer than there was with hockey.

After focusing hard on soccer through high school, Isabela received several scholarship options from top US colleges, including Duke, Michigan, USC, and Xavier. However, she also received scholarship options from many Canadian colleges, and was left with the difficult decision of staying close to home, staying in her home country, or taking the larger opportunity in the USA. She ultimately chose to stick somewhat close to home, and chose to play her college years at Ottawa University, one of the top teams in the country. The pressure of moving to the USA and dealing with the all the paperwork and problems of moving to another country was too much for Isabela to deal with. Ottawa was coming off a lot of recent success, and the combination of staying not only in Canada, but staying in Ontario as well was a big bonus. Isabela was promised an important role on the team and she was excited to still have a great opportunity despite not going to a big American college.

Isabela had a lot of success in college, in her 4 years there, Ottawa U only lost 4 games, and had 7 draws. She was a crucial part of the team for her final 3 years, a guaranteed starter, and played a huge role in Ottawa U employing a high-pace, aggressive attack. Isabela had great speed and great instincts with the ball on the attack. She has great passing and crossing accuracy, and was able to use those effectively with her speed to attack down the wing with pace, and send the ball in for her strikers to capitalize on. She wasn't afraid to take chances for herself as well, using her speed to back defenders off, and she was able to use the range on her shots to score a lot of goals from outside the box. Over 50 games in 4 years, she scored 15 goals, and had 61 assists. Isabela has a ton of potential coming into the SSL and she is very excited for the opportunity.

CODE

410 words

APPROVED

Thomas Llewellyn-Ducharme is professionally known as Thomas Llewellyn. He was born in Chicago, IL to mothers Kelly and Liana but the family moved to Seattle for Kelly's USWL career when he was 3 years old. The family settled more permanently in Seattle when she retired from her playing career shortly before Evie was born.

Thomas, most commonly Tom among friends and family, is the eldest of three kids. His sister Mary is a year younger, while Evie is 4 years younger. Despite being the eldest, he's possibly the most introverted of his siblings. Mary is bold, brash, and knows what she wants out of life pretty much within a given moment. Evie is charismatic and sharp-witted, examining details and evaluating deeply before making concrete decisions and pushing for them. Tom, by comparison, is soft-spoken and mild-mannered. In school, he went primarily by Thomas Ducharme to avoid attention from having a famous mother and a long Welsh name. He's never fared well with press attention, and used to actively hide his face when he was younger. It's one of the greatest challenges that he anticipates in his professional career.

There's a familial expectation of athletic prowess on the Llewellyn side of the family beyond just Tom's mother. Evie is a promising attacking midfielder for her middle school club team. His Aunt Julie was nearly an Olympic swimmer and won some awards in college, his cousin Joey is an ISFL champion offensive lineman for the New York Silverbacks, and his cousin Danny has recently retired from the SHL where he played primarily for the Toronto North Stars. Tom himself has been playing soccer and doing drills with his Mom since he could walk. It started as a way for him to spend time with Kelly while she was home, but he's developed into a solid defensive midfielder. The change to defense was made a little more recently in his career; through middle and early high school, he played as an attacking midfielder, even carrying his high school team to the Washington State Championship in his freshman year before committing to club soccer that put him on track for his SSL debut. When he joined his club team and had his first major growth spurt, it affected his speed and size. Thankfully, his game sense hasn't suffered for the change, and he's stepped fully into the role.

As he prepares to enter the SSL Draft, Tom is 18 years old. He's graduating high school next week, and then the draft will take place the week after. When asked what he's looking forward to the most, he responded, "The nap I'll take when the draft is over."

APPROVED

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Jeffrey LaVert had always been interested in soccer from a very young age. It first began with his parents noticing him enjoying kicking an old ball they had never paid attention to at the age of three. His parents taking notice of his passion for soccer put him in organized soccer at the age of 7, where he began playing as a Striker. LaVert was regularly seen with a headband, trying to copy one of his favourite anime characters, Satou Shigeki, from the hit anime Whistle.

At the age of 11, LaVert finally began to play 11-on-11s for his local club, the Erin Mills Soccer Club. It was quickly apparrent that the young prodigy was in a completely different class as he quickly dominated the local competition, breaking records left, right, and centre. 2 years later, a scout from his local MLS Club, Toronto FC Academy reached out to him and brought him in for a tryout. Shortly after he proved his skills and his potential as a striker to the scouts at the Academy, he was invited to the club's academy youth system at the young age of 13.

After showcasing his flashy play and scoring many many goals, for a couple of years, LaVert made the Team Canada U-17 team at the age of 15. The following year, he would earn a trip to the prestigious FIFA U-17 World Cup. This was LaVert's first time travelling internationally for soccer, and it was his first international tournament and he made sure that it would be one to remember. LaVert went on to tear the international stage apart, scoring a whopping 6 goals in 6 games. If that was not enough, he also added 2 assists on top of that.

The tournament brought a lot of success and fame to the young player who was quickly overwhelmed. However he continued to stay focused on his ultimate goal, to play in the Simulation Soccer League, where he believed that he would be able to showcase his talent as a world-class striker for all to see. As he looks forward to the draft, he believes that he might slip a little due to his youth, but any team that gets this quality player would be lucky to get someone with his talent.

APPROVED

Is it Tonga time? I think it's Tonga time? It's Tonga time.

Vui Kemoeatu will soon be draftable in the upcoming S4 SSL draft. For the Tongalese youngster this is a dream come true. It was a hell of a journey to reach this stage in his career. Growing up in Tonga, football is not a huge part of life. In Tonga Rugby Union or Rubgy league is way more populair, even American or Australian rule football are played way more than football. As a child Kemoeatu did actually play various sports, including American flag football and rugby. His heart however always lied with footbal as it was a way more natural sport to him. Despite growing up in Neiafu, the second largest city of Tonga, he did not grow up around the large football teams of Tonga. All Major League teams are located on the island of Tongatapu, which is also where the capital is located. Neiafu is located on the island of Vavaʻu. Roughly 190 miles of ocean seperate the two islands. So growing up Vui mostly played for amateur sides, but he showed great skill and gathered some attention with his play.

Vui would get priase for his ability to create link ups higher up on the field. Despite being a midfielder he was often found just outside of the box, creating immense pressure on the defense. His ability to read incoming passes and show up in the right areas to receive passes was a stand out trait of his. The talks about his skill would eventually reach the island of Tongatapu and the most succesful club of Tongalese football, Lotohaʻapai United, would end up bringing him over to play for them. Here Vui really started to hone his skills and made great waves in his development. So great, that interest was being peaked abroad in Australia and New Zealand. Now having turned 18 and being able to transfer out of Tonga, Vui is looking at the SSL to make a next step in his playing career. He hopes to be able to learn many new things and develop on the team that drafts him. He looks forward to the draft experience as well.

[367 words]

APPROVED

Though born in Manhattan, New York, Kjell Holmberg is not your typical American. His father is Swedish, so Kjell has his time split between Sweden and the United States. Spending time in both countries has led to a unique style of play for Kjell, as he has learned football from the Swedish and American point of view. His playstyle is also influenced by concepts from hockey, as Kjell has played hockey since he was born.

His father has encouraged Kjell, and his brother Sven, to explore sports and play what they feel comfortable with. For Kjell, that meant not following in his father's footsteps of playing professional hockey, but instead decided he would carve out his own path in the football world. Meanwhile, his younger brother Sven is currently preparing to get drafted into the SMJHL, then after that potentially the SHL. For Kjell though, football was what felt most comfortable to him and was the most fun. If you ask Kjell, he'll honestly tell you that skating was the biggest factor holding him back from playing hockey more seriously. On skates, it's like his feet have a mind of their own and he struggles to control them. Without skates though, Kjell feels in command on the pitch. Growing up, he would always tackle the other kids cleanly, rarely resulting in a card.

Kjell just recently decided he would consider professional football. He was always the best player on the field, but be never heard interest from any major clubs. He would play against big prospects, but the scouts were only focused on the big player. They had no eyes for Kjell, so he figured he wasn't good enough. In the recent years though, he noticed a new global league called the SSL. Some of the players in the league were people he remembered playing against and practicing with. He figured if they could play professionally, he could to. Kjell started to train more frequently, and watch footage on some of the best defensive players in the game today. The past few tournaments he has played in, he has been the standout player. Scouts going to games to view others player had no other choice but to notice Kjell. He built his path to at least the draft, now it is time to see if he can cut it in the professional ranks.

APPROVED

Edge Rocks grew up playing football in Dublin. As a young kid, he bounced around a few teams and academies at a young age, before getting noticed and settling in in the Shamrock Rovers academy. As a young player, Rocks fashioned himself as a deep lying playmaker, and has thrived in that role for years. He's garnered the praise of every youth coach he's had in Ireland, and many express their surprise that he never got picked up by a bigger academy. The young Irishman is noted for being very loyal, and finds it hard to leave what he considers his home in Dublin.

The Rocks family is far from a footballing family. With an American father and Irish mother, he grew up idolizing the American sports. He looked briefly into hockey and football, starring as a multi-sport athlete in his younger years, but he quickly realized it would be difficult to make it big in American sports in his home country. With his all around athleticism and work ethic, he quickly picked up on football. His passing quickly became his standout attribute, but all around he is solid, and is no stranger to finding the goal on occasion, despite his deep lying nature.

He made many friends and stood out as a midfielder for over a decade in the set-up, but Rocks always dreamed of something bigger. Sure, Shamrock Rovers is one of the best if not the best in the Irish Premier League, but he knew there was more success to be had. Soon enough, Rocks heard about a new league starting up, aiming to consist of world class players, allowing players to travel the world on a weekly basis and play among the best. So Rocks informed his coaches of his intentions, and began training for the SSL.

His coaches and teammates have been very supportive, continuing to work with him and give him ample playing time. The 18 year old Irishman would be close to breaking into the Shamrock Rovers first team if he planned on staying. Whichever team ends up with the young midfielder is looking at a potential world class player, if he can continue to develop at a solid rate.

APPROVED

Sydney Ramírez hadn’t done much traveling outside of her native Colombia. As native of Cartagena – near the northernmost tip of Colombia, she’d have to travel quite some ways to get to neighboring countries like Panama, Ecuador, or Venezuela. But after toiling for years on youth teams and training for countless scouts impressed by her potential but not willing to develop her, she had never truly left her home country. Her status left her as a pariah among her former line of employment – at least until she started receiving calls from scouts in the Simulation Soccer League.

When she first received the call, she was ecstatic – and understandably so. It was her first tryout for a team from a different country, and she’d heard so much about the American Dream. Thankfully, she was proficient enough in English to skate by with foreigners, profusely expressing her gratitude to her sponsors/scouts for offering her the chance to play internationally. Her former manager – and several of her friends – were vaguely familiar with the league, still in its infancy. Sydney was often viewed as an under-rated player on her youth teams and receiving any kind of recognition from well-respected leagues was a huge confidence boost for her.

Indeed, confidence was paramount throughout Sydney's life – as the daughter of a pageant queen, the expectation would be that she knew how to instill flair and flourish into her everyday routine. Cartagena was well known for the Miss Colombia pageant (and a thousand other smaller, less notable ones). It's no surprise that Sydney is a couple of years older than her Season 4 Draft peers, as she did spend a few years of her life living a bit of her mother's former job in an attempt to earn a bit of money and make a good name for herself. But she found the pageantry work unsurprisingly superficial and unfortunately limiting for opportunities outside of beauty-oriented tasks. There were a million other aspiring models in Colombia and far too many scummy, wealthy old men willing to exploit that supply – and while the challenges with supply and demand (or competition in general) is very similar in soccer, there was no doubt in her mind that a more stable, higher-earning, less exploitative future was in the cards if she switched her line of work.

[383]

APPROVED
