#1 Biography [Open to All Players not in regression]
Otto Rocket was born in Ocean Shores, California. He is the younger of the two in his family, having an older sister. Otto's dad is Raymundo Rocket. Otto lost his mother Danielle early in life. Otto's dad is the owner of a restaurant on one of the busiest piers in Ocean Shores. Otto, his sister and two friends spent many days just doing anything they could get into. Otto and his gang of friends loved every sport/outdoor activity that they could do. Otto learned at a later age that the sport he was really great at was soccer. As Otto would grow he would spend more and more time on the soccer pitches in Ocean Shores. Otto found that the stress of playing soccer could be combatted very easily by surfing either before or after games. Going out on the water and surfing taught Otto he couldn't control everything in his life and that was the same for the soccer pitch. Otto grew up a Columbus Crew fan because the hard work the team would put in reminded him of his father. Otto's craziest story comes from the day that a hurricane hit California. This hurricane was massive and they learned about it days in advance. Otto's family prepared for it and they batten down the hatches. After a day of horrible storms Otto was under the impression the storm had passed. He went outside and saw how beautiful the sky was and was positive the storm was over. He was so sick of being cooped up in the house that he decided it was time to go out and skateboard. Little did Otto know that it was the Eye of the storm and it wasnt safe to be out and about. Thanks to his friends and family they were able to go out in the bad storm and find him and bring him to safety or we wouldnt be able to see Otto grace the soccer field.

There were many nicknames his peers had for him 'the phenomenon' , 'football genius' to name a few. Loved by all his coaches since he could play any position on the pitch both physically and technically at the highest of levels, a 'coaches dream'. 'The future of Indian football' the media called him. That was Chris Warrick. Born in Darjeeling, his talent for the sport was visible from a very young age, so much so that unlike other typical Indian parents his parents actively encouraged him to focus on the sport at a high level and maybe pursue it in the future as well. When he went to the Junior state championship with his school team, that was when the outside hype caught on, videos of him went viral him dribbling through full backs with ease, slithering  through centrebacks with insane off the ball movement, making exquisite passes from the deep and creating big chances, insane tackling on the opposing star wingers, sometimes even slotting in at the centreback position to perform great defending when his  team faced pressure. A player who could 'seemingly' do it all somehow. As he grew older the hype grew even more he made his debut in the indian league (ISL) at the age of 18 and lead his team east bengal fc to a championship at the tender age of 19 a feat that was deemed impossible when the media talked about  it before the season begun. Talks had circulated among the media that some big european  club will surely make offers for him. That was when he held a press conference and told the media that the esteemed football league SSL had invited him to join their league with teams spread all around the world. He announced that he had accepted their offer and had said his goodbyes to his old team. A reporter asked him what position will he play there. Hearing that he smiled and replied "Throughout my career till now I have played wherever  my team needed me to  and that wouldnt change. But  What I can say for sure is when its all said and done I will retire as the best player ever regardless of position".

Zaza Banana was born and grew up in Maroua, a medium-sized city in the Far North Region in Cameroon.  He played football barefoot in the dusty streets with friends and aspired to make his way onto the pitch with the national team.  Before he was even ten years old, he joined a training center and began to refine his skills and learn tactics.  In his teens, Banana and his family moved to Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon partly in the hopes that he could make a career out of football.

In Yaounde, Banana joined one of the local football academies in order to further develop his skills.  This academy was well-renowned for developing and nurturing young talented football players and the coaching staff quickly recognized Banana was a strong physical player.  He could outpace defenders and had a keen eye for the net, but it was his work ethic that truly set him apart from the rest.  While he was coached at all positions except for goalkeeping, he did not show that he had the mind for organizing defenses and lacked the stamina of a midfielder and so the coaching staff recommended that he try and hone his talents as a striker.  As a forward, Banana developed a reputation as one of the best headers in the game despite his obvious youth.  His performance within the academy and on the U17 national stage began to generate international interest.

By the time he was 16, Banana was attracting various scouts from Africa to Europe.  Instead, he decided to try and make a name for himself by entering the draft in the Simulation Soccer League.  While he was not scouted as strongly as he expected, he ended up being drafted in the third round by a small club in the northern part of New Zealand.  From there, he hopes to join some of the greats in the SSL and one day lift the cup.

Jesper Sjöman was born and raised in the Swedish town of Visby. Decently sized by Swedish standards, small by any other standard, Visby is the main town on the island of Gotland, in the middle of the Baltic sea. Quite a picturesque place for a young footballer to grow up, don't you think? It's very quaint, very calm (except for when there's 50km/h winds trying to knock you over if you step outside). The sunniest place in Sweden. All that sunlight is a great motivator to spend time outdoors, and what's better to do outdoors than playing football? Jesper's been kicking a ball around since he could walk. Literally, there's a cherished family photo up on the living room wall, where while everyone else is posing for the picture, 2 year old Jesper is running off with his toddler sized football. The moment he became old enough to do so, he started going to actual organised kids' football practices, joining the academy of Gotland's biggest football club, FC Gute. That club raised him almost as much as his actual family did. He rose through the ranks to become one of the brightest young talents FC Gute has ever produced. For an island of 60 000 people, it's not often that an athlete of his caliber arises from such a small community. Even in his early teens, he already became a bit of a local celebrity. At the age of 14, he was already playing for the club's senior team, in the Swedish 4th tier, where he arose as a top player against adults despite having barely hit puberty. His brightest season with his hometown club was his final one, where 17 year old Jesper put the team in his backpack and carried them to promotion to the 3rd tier for the first time in over a decade. His time with FC Gute ended, as he decided to enroll in the SSL Draft, being called up to Stockholms IK for his Academy season.

Approved Hope FC Gute continued to thrive since Jesper moved on

Nerve de Groot, hailing from the Netherlands, was born in Amsterdam. Growing up, Nerve did not expect to be a part of a soccer team by any means.  Track and field was his first athletic venture growing up as his friends and family regarded him to be “one of the fastest youngins in Holland.” When high school came along, freshman year marked his first experience with football. He and his family went to Johan Cruijiff stadium quite a few times that year to see AFC Ajax play. The roar of the crowd and the plays on the field was practically magic to him. He worked harder on the track and was one of the best runners at his school. The coaches noticed his speed and wondered if it would pair well with a football. After a few days playing, Nerve de Groot wanted to put it to the test and start shooting.
Soon after that, de Groot switched out his track shoes and bought football cleats. Playing varsity at his school led to a few scouts from Ajax Youth Academy taking a keen interest in him. De Groot, for his sophomore to senior year, played at Ajax Youth, only a year after first starting. The youth groups had Nerve finding his favorite positions, striker and midfield. He found he had a strong kick while also maintaining his stamina and speed, something coaches often put to the test.
Once senior year rolled along, Nerve de Groot had made a name for himself, making his performance impossible to ignore. Soon agents from some of the most regarded clubs around, including Sydney City. This would be De Groot’s first time in the League but his first run would attract even bigger teams. After his rookie season, De Groot was scouted by his current team, Uniao Sao Paolo. De Groot intends for USP to be his home as he and the others on the team have found copious amounts of success through their efforts over the years.

Juliette Greer was born in Tokyo, Japan, where she quickly picked up the game of soccer. The daughter of SSL legend Jude Greer, she’s been surrounded by soccer culture from her earliest years. Though her older brother, Jude Greer Jr., had more passion for hockey from an early age, having since gone professional and being drafted by the Simulation Hockey League’s Madison Valkyries, Juliette is a devoted soccer player through and through.

On first glance, Juliette appears to have inherited a significant portion of her father’s speed and strength. Unlike her star dad, though, rather than playing fullback, she’s found a natural fit in midfield. Her main modus operandi is to gain possession in her team’s defensive third, then burst forward with a long dribbling run through the center third and into the attacking zone, before either playing in a teammate for a scoring chance or taking the shot herself. She broke her high school’s record for most goals scored in a season during her first year, and was a league leader in assists each season. In a nationwide tournament at the end of her final season, Juliette managed to lead her team to the semifinals, where they eventually lost on penalties. Despite the loss, Greer would finish the tournament with the most goals of any midfielder in the competition.

Juliette has lived her entire life in Japan, but unlike her brother Jude Jr., she seems to have indicated that she would prefer to represent the United States internationally, much like her dad. The United States has disappointed at the last two WSFC tournaments, and could certainly use an offensive presence such as Juliette in order to fire up their attack. Whether or not this will be the catalyst for a generational run remains to be seen, but Juliette seems poised to follow in her dad’s footsteps to also become an SSL legend in her own right.

Approved - Wishing you the best of luck following up in Jude's shadow!

João Mendes was born in Ponta Delgada, located on the island of São Miguel in the Azores. The small municipality off the coast of Portugal, not known for its abundance of football talent, is rather known for its local fishery and natural hot springs. João's love for the game of football started when he was very young, 4 years old to be exact, when his father mustered up enough money to get João a Pablo Aimar Benfica jersey. From that day on, João always had a football at his feet, practicing his keepie uppies or passing the ball against the wall of his school yard.

His dream was always to be a professional football player, although he knew his chances would be slim. He would always try to get his name out there, playing in any tournament or competition that was held on the island. As João started to get older, his teammates started to get taller. That wasn't the case for João, who was always the smallest player on the pitch. Although João was always one of the better players on the pitch, he would often be overlooked due to his small stature, especially since he was playing in the midfield.

However, a scout named Nuno Neves saw past his size and saw something in João that he had never seen before. The aggression and tenacity mixed with his exceptional ball control and vision were a combination that Neves had been looking for for years. He called his boss at the SL Benfica Academy, and within a few weeks, a young 12 year old João Mendes was on his way to Lisbon.

As João integrated rather quickly, his coaches thought it was best for him to play with kids older than him. João was always up to the task, moving up through the teams and eventually making the Benfica B team as a 16 year old. João continued to stand out, but unfortunately, there was no playing time in the first team yet. His agent had brought forward an opportunity to join the SSL, a league that he had been watching from afar. His decision to enroll in the upcoming draft was a tough one, leaving his boyhood club for an opportunity of a lifetime.

Armero Staple was born on October 27th, 2009 in Cataluna where soccer is very influential. Armero being 16 years old is attempting to make himself a name trying to be one of the best at the striker position for soccer. When he was younger his potential was shown from the hereditary speed he inherited usually being alot faster than the other kids around him. When playing in little league matches he was not just a little boy running around and recklessly kicking the ball he was controlled with spatial awareness and an instinct of knowing where he would be dangerous around the goal. His development as a young soccer player was because of who his dad was. His father was a professional soccer player and played for Spain at the national level. Since he was raised in a soccer enviornment watching his dads practices and games, soccer as a whole was shown to him on a very high level. Armero was devoted to being that good at soccer from that young age. His dads success attaracted scouts early making Mero scouted before most other kids his age were noticed. Before his recent arrival to the SSL Academy, Mero was part of an elite group of kids on a kids team. He controlled matches with scoring ability having his bestfriend who was at midfielder pass the ball from distance right into his feet. He was at his best when playing with pass first midfileders, always being on the recieving end of through balls and crosses getting alot of goals as a result. His coaches fell in love with his anticipation and overall instinct for the game with many of them labeling him a blue chip prospect and a real wonderkid. Now that he is about to enter the SSL Academy, Mero now is on the most critical part of his young career. He has listed big goals: to win World Cup with Spain, to win Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year, to win a club champion, to reach 1000 goals, to play for the national team and to master off the ball movement. Armero Staple now comes to the SSL Academy as a young dawg ready to earn his stripes.

Approved - Lofty goals for sure especially the 1000 goals!!!

Camelot Darugius, nicknamed Runner for his playing style hails from Southern tip of India. Started in his local academy as a winger due to his explosive pace and fitness but later drifted centrally as an attacking midfielder to be of better use to the club. Camelot, former child, always used to see football as a means to relax himself, the ground being a place where he can let go and breathe for once. In a country that is not very keen on pushing football as its primary sport or a sport of relevance, he started noticing minor changes to the trend. More academy players started emerging and underdog tales being written every often, which made him consider trialing for the SSL. Joining a new locker room, a bigger academy and to be part of a squad where his teammates might be more talented than himself will definitely give him an opportunity to improve himself. He harbours a "I can fight through this as long as I am standing" mentality which also explains his footballing brain where he loves to knock the ball past a defender, runs to it and loves challenging the defender for those half chances. His entire work ethic is to keep up with the flow and keep improving himself as a player and human being. No matter what rivalries are formed along the way due to his competitive attitude, all that stays on the pitch because thats exactly what a competition is supposed to do. It has to stay on the pitch and not beyond. The atmospheric change of leaving what was once his comfort zone, and to convert it to what might be his livelihood in future might pave way for him to be one of the best players that his region has ever seen. He also thinks that this sort of role might eventually grant him the power to influence a future generation to kick the ball harder and not overthink decisions, letting them take the leap of faith they so deserve.

Approved - Best of luck to Camelot in his Academy season!

Ekon Ayo was born on June 14, 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria to Nnamdi and Uche Ayo.  It was a warm clear night in the middle of the wet season, and Ekon came into the world under a full moon.

Ekon’s first few years of life were difficult for the family.  His father was working towards an advanced degree in observational astronomy at the technical university, and his mother was working the night shift at a medical clinic.  Between these commitments, they were constantly exchanging caregiving duties, but caring for Ekon was always their top priority.

Just before Ekon turned 4, his father finished his degree and landed an astronomer assignment at the Teide Observatory in the Canary Islands, an island chain built through successive volcanic eruption.  The family settled onto the island of Tenerife, happy to leave behind the poor quality of life in Lagos.  With the move, Uche was also able to shift to full-time parenting of Ekon, which alleviated some strain on the family.  Ekon and his parents would eventually become Spanish citizens and adopt the island as their permanent home.

From a young age, Ekon demonstrated exceptional athletic ability, in part due to his physical gifts.  He was always taller and stronger than his peers, and he surpassed 6 feet tall by 14 years old.  Ekon loved sports of all kinds, especially those that were outside in the warm weather of Tenerife.  He liked to swim, surf, and climb in his free time, and he competed on his school’s football team.  He was a well-rounded player, but he was a more natural defender from the start.

Surrounded by the volcanic past of Tenerife, Ekon also developed a strong interest in geology in his teen years.  While his dad would travel to the observatory to look up at the sky, Ekon would tag along to look down at the rocks – and the Teide volcano was the perfect place to do so.  By the end of high school, Ekon knew he wanted to study geology full-time, so he enrolled in a program at Universidad de Granada.  Traveling to the Spanish mainland was his first time leaving the Canary Islands since his family’s emigration from Nigeria.

While at the university, Ekon also joined the football team.  At first, he saw the activity as supplemental to his studies.  He played hard and cared deeply about the team, but his training lacked focus and rigor.  However over time, his natural skills became too strong to ignore: Ekon could make it as a professional football player, but he needed to dedicate more time and energy to become a top talent.  Joining the SSL academy S25 class is his first step toward becoming a premier fullback defender.

———

The name “Ayo” is inspired by Jupiter’s moon Io.  One of the solar system’s most dramatic objects, Io is a volcanic moon that is extremely inhospitable to life – the perfect symbol for an outside defender that specializes in relentless isolation defense.  The significance of volcanism shared between the family namesake and the Canary Islands makes Tenerife a fitting landing place for Ekon and the Ayo family.

Approved - Ekon sounds like he is going to be a stud, can't wait to see what you do!
